چکیده
Background: Hemoglobin A1C (HbA1c) levels are known to be linked a higher risk of stroke. However, no research data is available on the impact HbA1C severity acute ischemic stroke in Sudan. Methods: This study descriptive, cross-sectional hospital-based 40 cases Ischemic was confirmed using computed tomography (CT) scan at admission; all subjects’ blood were also measured. Participants divided into two subgroups based admission, good glycemic control (GGC) (<7 HbA1C) and poor (PGC) (>7 HbA1C), neurological impairment assessed National Institutes Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS). Results: The age distribution participants 45-85 years, with an average 63.5±9.2 years highest frequency (67.5%) group 55-75 years. PGC had statistically significant high value 8.9±1.3 (P=0.000), when compared GGC 5.1±0. association between admission this (P value=0.005), (78.6%) moderate severe (> 18.8 NIHSS) versus (33.3%) that (>10.4NIHSS). elevated patients 70% study. Conclusion: shown occurrence its severity.

Introduction: Swallowing dysfunction complicates acute strokes in 25-32% of cases and directly affects patientschr('39') prognosis and recovery. Dysphagia complicates the course of acute strokes through its potential of the development of chest infection, nutritional problems, and dehydration. Dysphagia is also an independent predictor of respiratory morbidity and mortality in acute stroke. In...
